Work a load inside a Class II biosafety cabinet

Reinforce the BMBL / CDC cabinet order. Materials are not opened until sash height, purge, inward airflow, and a clean-to-dirty layout are set, and grilles stay clear.

  1. Don the required PPE.
  2. Confirm the cabinet is within certification date.
  3. Set the sash at the marked certified height.
  4. Turn UV off and the blower on.
  5. Allow the taught purge time before loading.
  6. Verify inward airflow by the SOP tissue or gauge check.
  7. Wipe the work surface with the approved disinfectant.
  8. Load materials from clean to dirty.
  9. Do not block the front or rear grilles.
  10. Perform the work, keeping contaminated items downstream.
  11. Decontaminate surfaces after work.
  12. Remove waste in the taught order.
  13. Purge again before shutting the sash.
