Terminal-clean an isolation room after discharge
Reinforce the CDC isolation-discharge clean from EVS training. The room is not released until contact time is met and the airing or UV step, if required, is finished.
- Don the isolation PPE required for that pathogen.
- Remove linens and waste without agitating them.
- Clean from high to low and from clean to dirty with the approved agent.
- Observe the full contact time on all surfaces.
- Complete any required UV, HPV, or airing step.
- Doff PPE and perform hand hygiene.
- Only then mark the room ready.
