Terminal-clean an isolation room after discharge

Reinforce the CDC isolation-discharge clean from EVS training. The room is not released until contact time is met and the airing or UV step, if required, is finished.

  1. Don the isolation PPE required for that pathogen.
  2. Remove linens and waste without agitating them.
  3. Clean from high to low and from clean to dirty with the approved agent.
  4. Observe the full contact time on all surfaces.
  5. Complete any required UV, HPV, or airing step.
  6. Doff PPE and perform hand hygiene.
  7. Only then mark the room ready.
