Set a helicopter LZ for an EMS landing

Reinforce FAA AIM / CAMTS landing-zone order from EMS and fire training. Mark, clear debris, call obstacles, and hold bystanders before anyone is waved in. Approach only after the crew signals.

1. Select a firm, level site of the taught size.
2. Confirm approach and departure paths.
3. Mark the zone.
4. Remove or secure loose objects.
5. Call overhead wires, towers, and slope to the pilot.
6. Hold bystanders and vehicles outside the rotor disk.
7. Approach only after the crew signals.
8. Approach from the downhill / 12-o’clock side as briefed.
9. Do not walk under the tail rotor.
10. Do not carry anything upright.
