Sample a vegetation quadrat for a vegetation survey

Reinforce ecological-field order from vegetation-monitoring training. Cover is not estimated until the frame is placed by the protocol, and species are not pulled before the plot photo.

1. Locate the plot from the protocol (random, systematic, or marked).
2. Place the frame without ‘hunting’ a pretty patch.
3. Photograph the plot with the scale.
4. Record cover or stems by species.
5. Collect a voucher only if the protocol allows it.
6. Do not move the frame after you see a rare plant just outside it.
