Drill the NIMS / ICS Planning P order from emergency-management training. Objectives, IAP build, IC approval, and the ops briefing finish before the period starts. Execute and status reports are separate.

1. Set incident objectives for the operational period.
2. Build the IAP with assignments, comms, and medical.
3. Obtain the IC’s approval.
4. Brief supervisors before the period starts.
5. Execute the plan.
6. Report status at the taught interval.
7. Do not freestyle a new objective mid-period without the IC.
