1. Stop the source if it is safe.
2. Contain the sheen with booms or the SPCC materials.
3. Notify the facility emergency coordinator.
4. Call the National Response Center when a sheen reaches navigable water or the adjoining shoreline.
5. Document volume, time, and weather.
6. Do not wash the sheen into a storm drain.
