Receive a USP <800> hazardous-drug shipment

Practice the USP <800> receiving order from pharmacy-operations training. The tote is not opened at the retail counter, and a spill is not cleaned without the HD kit.

1. Accept the tote only in the designated HD receiving area.
2. Do not open the tote at the retail counter.
3. Inspect the closed tote for leaks before opening it.
4. Don the HD gown and chemotherapy gloves required for receiving.
5. Scan and reconcile the NDC against the invoice.
6. Place intact stock into the negative-pressure or designated HD storage.
7. If a leak is found, isolate the tote.
8. Use the HD spill kit; do not clean a leak without it.
