Open a first-notice-of-loss file

Practice the FNOL order from P&C claims training. Coverage is not admitted on the first call, and the scene is not released before the assignment is complete.

1. Identify the policy, loss date, and reported facts without admitting coverage.
2. Record involved parties, location, and injuries.
3. Issue the claim number.
4. Issue the recorded-statement or contents instructions the line of business requires.
5. Assign the field adjuster or desk unit.
6. Set reserves per the authority matrix.
7. Send the required acknowledgment.
8. Send the fraud notice if the jurisdiction requires it.
