- Confirm roll, scene, and take with the script supervisor.
- Load or check the magazine or media.
- Announce “speed” only when the camera is actually rolling.
- Call sound speed.
- Slate in frame.
- Clap the sticks.
- Get out of frame.
- The director calls action only after the slate is clear.
- Do not cut camera before the script supervisor confirms the take letter.
