Practice the sequence you already learned for “Load a magazine and call a take” until the order feels automatic. Drill the camera-team slate order from set-operations training. The sticks are not clapped until sound is rolling and the slate matches the lined script.

  1. Confirm roll, scene, and take with the script supervisor.
  2. Load or check the magazine or media.
  3. Announce “speed” only when the camera is actually rolling.
  4. Call sound speed.
  5. Slate in frame.
  6. Clap the sticks.
  7. Get out of frame.
  8. The director calls action only after the slate is clear.
  9. Do not cut camera before the script supervisor confirms the take letter.
