Garb for USP <797> sterile compounding
Reinforce the dirty-to-clean garbing order from sterile-compounding training. Hands are not gloved until the gown is on and alcohol-based hand rub has dried.
- Remove outer garments, jewelry, and cosmetics in the anteroom.
- Don shoe covers.
- Don the hair cover and a beard cover if needed.
- Don the face mask.
- Perform surgical hand hygiene.
- Don a non-shedding gown.
- Enter the buffer room.
- Sanitize hands with alcohol-based hand rub and let them dry.
- Don sterile gloves so they cover the gown cuffs.
- Sanitize gloves with sterile IPA before the first manipulation.
