Garb for USP <797> sterile compounding

Reinforce the dirty-to-clean garbing order from sterile-compounding training. Hands are not gloved until the gown is on and alcohol-based hand rub has dried.

  1. Remove outer garments, jewelry, and cosmetics in the anteroom.
  2. Don shoe covers.
  3. Don the hair cover and a beard cover if needed.
  4. Don the face mask.
  5. Perform surgical hand hygiene.
  6. Don a non-shedding gown.
  7. Enter the buffer room.
  8. Sanitize hands with alcohol-based hand rub and let them dry.
  9. Don sterile gloves so they cover the gown cuffs.
  10. Sanitize gloves with sterile IPA before the first manipulation.
