Fly a published missed approach

Reinforce the FAA ACS missed-approach order from instrument training. The missed is flown at the missed-approach point, not after a second look below minimums.

  1. At the missed-approach point without the required visual, call "missed."
  2. Set go-around thrust.
  3. Establish the missed attitude.
  4. Navigate the published missed track and altitude.
  5. Communicate the missed to ATC.
  6. Clean the aircraft on schedule.
  7. Climb to the missed altitude.
  8. Do not descend below DA/MDA for "one more look."
