Execute a utility switching order

Practice the sequence you already learned for “Execute a utility switching order” until the order feels automatic. Drill the written switching-order sequence from electric-utility training. Devices are not operated out of step, and tags are hung before the circuit is treated as de-energized.

1. Receive and read back the written switching order.
2. Identify each device in the field against the order.
3. Operate devices only in the numbered sequence.
4. Apply tags and locks as each step requires.
5. Test for absence of voltage only after isolation and tagging.
6. Report each completed step to the system operator before the next.
