Execute a rejected takeoff to a stop

Practice the sequence you already learned for “Execute a rejected takeoff to a stop” until the order feels automatic. Drill the FAA rejected-takeoff order from type or primary training. The abort is not delayed past V1, and reverse is not the first action before power is set idle.

  1. Brief the abort point and the PIC call before lining up.
  2. Reject only for the briefed items at or below V1.
  3. Close thrust to idle first.
  4. Apply maximum braking as the AFM directs.
  5. Deploy speed brakes as the procedure allows.
  6. Apply reverse as the procedure allows.
  7. Stop straight ahead or as the runway remaining requires.
  8. Do not continue the takeoff after a reject decision.
  9. Notify tower once stopped.
