Exclude an ill food worker from the line

Reinforce Food Code employee-health order from PIC training. A worker with vomiting or diarrhea is not given a quiet station instead of exclusion.

1. Ask the symptom and diagnosis questions required of the PIC.
2. Exclude a worker with vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, or a listed diagnosis.
3. Restrict or exclude other conditions as the Food Code table requires.
4. Document the exclusion and the return-to-work criteria.
5. Notify the health department when a reportable diagnosis is named.
6. Do not allow the worker back until the required time or clearance is met.
