Establish SI traceability for a field meter

Practice the sequence you already learned for “Establish SI traceability for a field meter” until the order feels automatic. Drill ISO/IEC 17025 traceability from metrology training. Field data are not reported until the meter is checked against a standard with an unbroken certificate chain.

1. Identify the measurement and the required uncertainty.
2. Select a reference standard with a current certificate.
3. Check the field meter against that standard.
4. Record as-found, adjustment if allowed, and as-left.
5. Attach the certificate numbers to the data package.
6. Do not report results from a meter past its cal due date.
