Don a tight-fitting respirator and user-seal-check

Practice the OSHA 1910.134 donning order from respiratory-protection training. The wearer does not enter the hazard until a user seal check passes.

  1. Confirm you are medically cleared to wear this respirator.
  2. Confirm you are fit-tested on this make, model, and size.
  3. Inspect the facepiece, straps, valves, and filters.
  4. Don the respirator and set strap tension as trained.
  5. Perform the user seal check as trained.
  6. Adjust or replace the respirator if the seal check fails.
  7. Do not enter the hazard if the seal check still fails.
  8. Confirm the cartridge or filter is correct for this hazard.
  9. Enter only after the seal check passes.
