Complete the WHO surgical safety timeout

Practice the WHO surgical-safety checklist order from OR training. Incision is not made until Sign In and Time Out are complete; Sign Out finishes before the patient leaves the room.

1. Confirm patient identity, procedure, and consent before anesthesia.
2. Confirm the site is marked or not applicable.
3. Complete the anesthesia-machine and pulse-oximeter checks before induction.
4. Pause for the timeout before incision with the full team present.
5. Confirm name, procedure, and incision site aloud.
6. State the anticipated critical steps, duration, and blood loss.
7. Confirm antibiotic prophylaxis was given within the last 60 minutes if indicated.
8. Confirm sterility indicators and that essential imaging is displayed.
9. Complete the sign-out before the patient leaves the room.
10. Confirm instrument, sponge, and needle counts.
11. Confirm specimens are labeled aloud.
12. State key recovery and management concerns.
