Complete a group lockout with a lockbox

Practice the OSHA 1910.147(f)(3) group-lockout order from authorized-employee training. Personal locks do not come off the box until each worker is clear, and only the primary employee restores energy.

1. Isolate all energy sources as the primary authorized employee.
2. Verify zero energy as the primary authorized employee.
3. Place the isolation-device keys in the group lockbox.
4. Have each authorized employee verify isolation.
5. Have each authorized employee apply a personal lock to the box.
6. Each person removes only their own lock when their work is done.
7. Confirm nonessential items are removed and equipment is intact.
8. Confirm all employees are clear of the area.
9. The primary employee restores energy only after the last personal lock is off.
