Complete a combustion analysis after a furnace changeout

Practice the HVAC commissioning order from mechanical-contractor training. The unit is not turned over until draft, CO, and gas pressure are measured and recorded.

1. Confirm gas piping is complete.
2. Confirm venting and electrical are complete.
3. Start the appliance per the manufacturer's sequence.
4. Measure inlet gas pressure.
5. Measure manifold pressure.
6. Measure draft.
7. Measure O2 or CO2 in the flue.
8. Measure CO in the flue.
9. Adjust only within the rating plate.
10. Shut down if CO is out of limit.
11. Record the readings on the ticket before calling the job complete.
