Clear a forklift for the shift

Reinforce the powered-industrial-truck pre-op order from OSHA PIT training. Walkaround checks are done with the truck off; the truck is not placed in service if a defect is found.

1. Confirm you are trained and authorized for this truck.
2. Confirm the data plate is present, legible, and matches the truck and attachments.
3. Inspect forks, mast, chains, and hydraulic lines with the truck off.
4. Check tires, overhead guard, and load backrest.
5. Check fluid levels or battery charge as equipped.
6. Test the horn and backup alarm.
7. Test service and parking brakes in a clear area.
8. Log defects immediately.
9. Tag out the truck and do not place it in service if it is unsafe.
