Bond and ground a flammable-liquid transfer

Practice the NFPA 77 bonding-and-grounding order from flammable-liquids training. The transfer is not started until bonding and grounding clamps show continuity.

  1. Confirm both containers must be bonded for this flammable liquid.
  2. Attach the ground clamp to the known ground point first.
  3. Bond the receiving container to the source container.
  4. Verify metal-to-metal contact or continuity as the SOP requires.
  5. Transfer at the taught flow rate.
  6. Keep the fill path below the liquid surface if the SOP requires it.
  7. Close the containers when the transfer is done.
  8. Remove the bond and ground last.
