Apply the MARCH sequence on a tactical casualty

Reinforce the TCCC/TECC MARCH order from combat- or tactical-medic training. Airway is not addressed before massive hemorrhage is controlled. Card and evacuation are last.

  1. Control massive hemorrhage first with a tourniquet or wound packing.
  2. Open and maintain the airway.
  3. Treat respiratory compromise.
  4. Decompress a suspected tension pneumothorax if trained.
  5. Address circulation and shock.
  6. Prevent hypothermia.
  7. Complete the casualty card.
  8. Prepare for evacuation.
