1. Know how many visits remain this inning.
2. If the visit requires a change, signal the bullpen.
3. Report the substitution to the umpire before the new pitcher throws a pitch.
4. Warm the reliever on the clock if the league uses one.
5. Update the lineup card.
6. Do not take a second visit that forces a change unless that is the plan.
