Activate a STEMI alert from a 12-lead

Reinforce the AHA/ACC STEMI activation order from emergency-cardiac training. The cath lab is not delayed for a full lab panel once 12-lead criteria are confirmed.

1. Obtain a 12-lead and confirm STEMI criteria or an equivalent activation trigger.
2. Stamp first-medical-contact time.
3. Activate the STEMI / cath-lab pathway.
4. Give the taught antiplatelet if not contraindicated.
5. Give the taught anticoagulant if not contraindicated.
6. Place a reliable IV and defibrillator pads.
7. Send records with the patient for transfer.
8. Do not delay activation for a full lab panel.
